Hello there, welcome to my rest spot! I'd like to talk and share some of my hobbies, as well as any interesting things to me
One of my biggest hobbies is music, and I play guitar mainly. I've played guitar for 5 years now, and I've attended several music events during my university years. I like blues, jazz fusion, funk, and R&B music, and trying to become a composer right now. As you may know, I'm making music for my game studio and also for some other ones. I learned some knowledge about sound technology but I have to say that making music and sound efx for the video game is a whole lot different experience, and that's like the bridge connecting me as a programmer and as a music lover, so that's really exciting for me. That said, I'm also very interested in sound and games, such as visualization, enhancing player immersion, and conveying gameplay information. I hope I can learn those things more in the future.
I also like board games very much! I took a class at the UofA which basically let us design and make our own board game and I had a very good time from that class. Sometimes I will go to the board game cafe with my friends spending some time playing board games. I like CoC, which is a Cthulhu version of DND. I never really get chance to play DND because I don't have any friends who're interested in that but I'd like to give it a try if possible! I think board game is a great tool when designing video games and also a good hook for educational purposes. I met some great people who brought their own board game to the gameDev meeting and showed us its educational purpose. Last time, an old lady brought a board game that shows the life cycle of apple trees, and players need to organize resources to take care of the trees. I'm very interested in those kinds of forms of education that can bring knowledge to people in fun.
Besides all of those things. Like any other computer science student, I'm a little bit nerdy about many subcultures. I watch some anime, vtuber streams and many weird internet memes. I like to discover the social effect behind those things or just simply enjoy them.
Thank you for taking some time to listen to me yapping. I hope you find some interesting stuff here and know me better as a person : )
